RSVP dealdine has been extended to 5/16 for the forthcoming May 22nd Evening Parent Workshop. This spring event will offer presentations on a variety of topics including the Common Core State Standards and Technology, Math Skills at Home, Helping Parents remain in Control, as well as other interesting and educational topics.

This Tuesday, Apr 8 is the LAST TUESDAY EARLY DISMISSAL. 2:35p dismissal begins 4/22

Beginning Monday, April 21 school will dismiss EVERYDAY at 2:35 for the remainder of the school year!

On Thursday, April 10, at 6:30pm in the MPR, there will be a short but very important meeting (about half an hour if we can start at 6:30 sharp) in order to elect the 2014-2015 PTA Board. If you attend any meeting this year, make it this one. We need to have a quorum (16 members) in order to vote and get the new board in place before Spring Break! 

We are accepting nominations for all positions, but particularly for Vice President for Special Events, Vice President for Membership, Financial Secretary, Auditor, EScrip Chair, Hospitality Chair. Descriptions for these positions can be found on the PTA website.

As an added incentive, there will be drawings for door prizes!

As always, childcare will be provided.

Living in Southern CA means experiencing the occasional earthquake.  The recent string of quakes over the last 2 weeks, Westwood M4.4 (3/17), La Habra M5.1 (3/29) and Rowland Heights M4.1 (3/29) is another reminder to assess your preparedness and develop a plan for you and your loved ones.  

April is Earthquake Preparedness Month, it has been recognized since the April 1906 San Francisco earthquake and continues to be supported by the state assembly urging all Californians and government agencies to engage in education, evaluation of seismic hazards, mitigation, safety activities, and the exchange of information related to earthquake preparedness with other states and nations.

All are invited to consider taking on a role on our Board for the coming 2014-2015 school year.  This is an opportunity to become an integral member of our organization of parents, teachers and community members as we strive to enhance our children’s educational experience here at Eagle Rock Elementary.  

 Many working parents feel that they cannot be involved in the business and activities of the PTA because they cannot come to every meeting or be on campus during the day; however, the possibilities in ways you can help are nearly limitless.

Remember, whatever your schedule, the Eagle Rock Elementary PTA welcomes you as an officer or committee chair!  

You can make a difference in our school community so consider a leadership role in your Eagle Rock Elementary PTA!

Pi, or π, is defined as the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Pi is an irrational number, meaning it cannot be written as a simple fraction. Instead, it can be expressed as an infinite, nonrepeating decimal (3.14159…) or approximated as the fraction 22/7.
